The main purpose of the scale .sf is to inform investors about the differences between structured finance instruments and other types of financial instruments.

To be rated on the .sf scale structured finance instruments usually meet the following criteria:

1) the underlying asset acts as collateral and is a source of cash flow generation for servicing liabilities

2) the existence of the actual sale of the underlying assets is confirmed by a legal document

3) the issuers are mortgage agents, specialized financial companies or specialized project finance companies
