The National Financial Association is a professional association of participants in the Russian financial market, established in January 1996 by the largest Russian banks and investment companies in the government securities market with the support of the Ministry of Finance and the Bank of Russia. Previously, it had the status of a self-regulatory organization. On May 18, 2023, the Bank of Russia terminated the status of NFA as a self-regulatory organization in the financial market for all types of activities of financial organizations, namely: brokerage, dealer, depositary activities, activities of specialized depositories, securities management, and maintenance of the register of securities holders.
